The Gloucester Outlaws Youth Football and Cheer had a winning weekend against the Hopewell Blue Devils.
The 10U Outlaws beat their opponents, 13-6. Great defense, solid blocking and efficient special teams led Gloucester to the victory. Anthony Hodges and Gunner Valcourt both scored touchdowns. Leo Collier had one interception.
The 12U Gloucester Outlaws also defeated Hopewell, 20-0. Touchdowns were scored by Deonte Pollard Washington, Kyle Young and Dylan Delph. Defense was led by Hakeem Erraji, Khaidyn Spencer and Jesse Smith. Adarius Wright and Joey Briggs made up the special team.
The previous Saturday, the Gloucester 12U team came back from a 14-point deficit to win, 23-22, against Westmoreland. The comeback was fueled by D.J. Briggs with a kickoff return for a touchdown. The 12U Outlaws are undefeated so far.
The Gloucester Outlaws will be hosting games for the next two weekends, Sept. 23 and Sept. 30, at Bethel Elementary School. Games start at 10 a.m. both days.
