Osprey Watch Alliance meeting rescheduled

A meeting of the Osprey Watch Alliance, originally to be held today, has been rescheduled for 1-3 p.m. on Friday, April 19, at Gloucester Library, Main Street Center.
At that meeting, Michael Academia of the Center for Conservation Biology will complete training for recording the alliance’s spring osprey nest observations in the soon to be launched in the upgraded Osprey Watch website. According to Academia, it will vastly improve reporting observations.
The Osprey Watch Alliance also plans to have a share session among those attending about nest successes and challenges. In the future, Academia plans to feature osprey stories as part of the group’s campaign to feature watchers and their experiences with ospreys on the group’s website.
“We are very pleased with responses to our pleas for osprey platform owners to participate in the camera study,” a release stated. If you have questions about that project, contact Academia at macademia@wm.edu.
