Orchid talk

Arthur Chadwick of Chadwick and Sons Orchids, Richmond, gave a talk on orchids at the April 11 meeting of the Mathews-Middlesex Master Gardeners, which was held at Kingston Parish House, Mathews. Chadwick brought a smattering of the most popular orchids today, and explained that orchids are the ideal houseplant. Orchids, he said, could live forever if they’re taken care of properly. Some of the orchids he showed have been growing since the 1940s. Orchids, he said, need a bright room and like to be pot-bound in small clay pots.
