Opry to present oldies show with hits from ’70s and ’80s

Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry will kick up its heels on Saturday night, and take guests back in time to the “good ol’ days” of country and rock and roll from the decades of the 1970s and ’80s.
The oldies show will feature the house band Shades of Country, and all of the Opry singers, including special guests, performing some of the best songs of yesteryear. The show will be at Mathews High School’s Harry M. Ward Auditorium. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30.
“Since our oldies shows are the most requested of each year, we decided to do two this year with this week’s show focusing on ’70s and ’80s music,” said Opry president Lynda Smith. Those in attendance are bound to hear some familiar hits the Eagles, the Charlie Daniels Band, Alabama, Neil Diamond and much more.
