Opry to hold ‘Sounds of Summer’ concert Saturday

Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry will hold its “Sounds of Summer” concert on Saturday night at Mathews High School’s Harry M. Ward Auditorium. Doors open at 7:30 and the show begins at 8 o’clock.
The concert will feature the house band, Shades of Country, and the rest of the Opry regulars performing their favorite country summer tunes and beach music from the likes of Jimmy Buffett and the Beach Boys, among others.
The show will include a wide range of songs, from new country summer hits like “Buy Me A Boat” and “Cruise” to old summertime favorites like “Surfin’ USA” and “Under the Boardwalk.” The cast will also welcome back a past Opry star, Steve Motley.
“All of us here at the Opry are excited to be continuing the Donk’s Theater tradition of great music and want to thank you all for supporting local live entertainment,” Opry vice president Lynda Smith said.
Tickets—$12 for adults...
