Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry will present an evening of gospel music on Saturday. The show, which will be held at the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School beginning at 7:30, will feature the house band, Shades of Country, and all of the Opry singers as well as some guest stars performing a combination of new Christian music and traditional standards.
A wide array of musical selections, from hymns like “Just a Closer Walk With Thee” and “When the Saints Go Marching In” to newer music by Casting Crowns and Zach Williams, as well as old standards such as “I’ll Fly Away” and “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” will be presented. Saturday’s show will also see the return of a past Opry star, Steve Motley.
