Openings still available for Bay School Summer Art Camps

The Bay School Community Arts Center still has openings available in many of its Summer Art Camps, which are being offered from June through August at its home on 279 Main Street, Mathews.
Among the classes, children will be able to learn how to make jewelry, fairy journals and dolls, magazine beads and bowls, paper-maché and felted turtles, and mermaid journals and dolls.
Sculpting classes will teach students how to create a pottery pie slice or a funky face wall hanging or throw a clay bowl or pot, art classes will teach about famous artists and their styles, and a mixed media class will use various materials to create 3D pieces of arts featuring door and window creations.
There will be a class on basket weaving and tote construction and several classes on painting everything from an impressionist outdoor piece to a watercolor raccoon. A drawing class will have students using everything from charcoal to conte crayon to spray paint.
