Open water swims held at Williams Wharf

Open water swims at Williams Wharf in Mathews are being held through September, offered by the Mathews Outdoors Club. The swim group meets on Mondays and Thursdays between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
This is a self-paced activity for adults (ages 18 and over) who want to practice swimming laps in open water. A Red Cross AED and CPR certified attendant will be present to observe and monitor; each participant is expected to be a competent swimmer, a release said. This is not an instructor-led session and it is not intended as a swim lesson or for recreational swim.
Swimming at Williams Wharf, other than for this MOC activity, is prohibited. Participants need to complete a waiver (mocva.net/fitness) and pay $5 to the attendant each time they attend.
