One driver was injured in a two-car accident that occurred at 6:10 a.m. last Thursday, Sept. 5, at the intersection of Routes 3 and 14 at Windsor Road.
Sgt. J. Dudley of the Gloucester office of Virginia State Police said a 2016 Toyota Corolla driven by a 31-year-old Gloucester woman had been headed east on Route 14, before turning toward Route 3 Windsor Road and crossing the westbound lanes of Route 14, there being struck by an oncoming westbound 2024 Kia minivan driven by a 29-year-old woman of Port Haywood.
The Toyota’s driver received serious injuries and was hospitalized, Dudley said. The Kia’s driver was uninjured.
The sergeant said there is no indication that speed was a factor, but that failure of the Toyota to yield right-of-way probably caused the accident. The investigation continues.
