All circuit and district courts in Gloucester and Mathews will be closed Tuesday through Thursday, Dec. 24-26, in observance of the Christmas holiday.
Administrative offices and libraries in both counties will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and 25, reopening on Thursday, Dec. 26.
In Gloucester, the commissioner of the revenue and treasurer’s offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, while in Mathews the commissioner of the revenue and treasurer’s offices will be closed Tuesday through Friday, reopening on Monday, Dec. 30. The Mathews office of elections and voter registrar will be closed Tuesday through Friday, as well, because employees worked three holidays during 2024.
Schools in both counties will be closed from Monday, Dec. 23 through Friday, Jan. 3 for their winter break.
Waste facilities in Gloucester will be closed on Christmas Day only, while the Mathews transfer station will close for a half-day on Christmas Eve in addition to its regular Wednesday closure.
