A large professional office park is slated to be built adjacent to York River Crossing Shopping Center, Hayes.
Bobby Freeman, managing partner of York River Crossing Associates, said Dec. 3 that the project, Gloucester Square Commerce Park, will be built on eight acres to the south of the shopping center, which Freeman’s group developed.
An application submitted to Gloucester County shows 10 office buildings projected to be built. But Freeman said that office buildings will be built for individual businesses, as deals are struck, and the exact number of buildings for the site has not been determined.
Freeman said there’s been little new office building development in Gloucester for a number of years. Unlike many rental situations now in place in Gloucester, Gloucester Square will offer ownership of individual buildings with a condominium concept that will collectively cover internal road maintenance, lawn care and other exterior features.
