Heaven gained a beautiful angel, Odessa B. Huskey, of Hayes, who passed peacefully at home surrounded by family and loved ones on Aug. 9, 2012 at the age of 83.

She grew up in Newport News, Va., the daughter of Clarence and Evelyn Burton. Odessa graduated from Newport News High School.

She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She was an amazing woman who will be missed very much and remembered forever.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Cleo Huskey Sr.; children, Diana Cook, Cleo “Bubba” Huskey Jr. and wife Amy; brother, Billy Burton; sister, Carolyn Griffin; grandchildren, Tonya C. Jones and husband Tim, Shannon Cook and wife Jennifer, Aaron Huskey and wife Stacy, Brent Huskey, Keith Huskey; great-grandchildren, Austin and Logan Cook, and first cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Dr. Richard Croxton were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the Hospice of Virginia and Jessica and Deloris for the care and support given to Odessa and her family.
