Ocean Products topic of upcoming museum talk

As Ocean Products Research celebrates its 60th anniversary, Sawyer Hutson—the Mathews County company’s new president and grandson of company founder Robert C. “Bobby” Hutson—will be the guest speaker at a special program on Dec. 6 at the Mathews Museum.
In the program, which starts at 7 p.m. at the museum, 200 Main Street, Mathews C.H., Sawyer Hutson will detail the company’s history and significant role that Ocean Products has played, both in the community as well as nationally.
Bobby Hutson started Ocean Products Research, Inc., in 1964, in his backyard. They are still located in Diggs today. The company’s beginnings brought the first monofilament technology in the U.S. Since then, OPR has been fabricating synthetic net and rope assemblies for the government, marine and utilities industries for over 60 years.
There is no cost to attend this program and reservations are not required.
