An Occasion for the Arts, a perennial Williamsburg festival, returns to Merchants Square on Oct. 5 and 6 for its 56th year.
The festival celebrates the work of artists from around the country along with music, performances and cultural events. A release said more than 150 artists from over 20 states will showcase their work at the festival that runs from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on both weekend days. Also, nearly a dozen live performances will take place on two different stages including genres such as jazz, country, pop, bluegrass, acoustic rock, and folk. The Virginia Regional Ballet will also be on hand for a dance performance, and children will enjoy shows by the Rainbow Puppets and magician William the Conjuror.
