Norview blanks Dukes, 27-0

Gloucester High School varsity football players were blanked 27-0 by Norview in the Dukes’ first home game of the season on Friday.

The Norview offense quickly went to work and scored twice in the first quarter. The visitors added another touchdown in the second to make it 20-0 at the break. Norview scored a final TD in the fourth quarter on a long run. The Gloucester offense could not control the ball and was again hurt by turnovers.

 

"We’re beating ourselves," said Gloucester head coach Brandon Kelley. The Dukes turned the ball over 11 times in their first two games of the season. "We’re coming along, we’re in a process of building, but we need to eliminate our mistakes." Kelley cited the offensive play of senior Cory Arnett as a bright spot for the Dukes, along with the defensive play of senior Tyler Banks.
