Northern Neck Orchestra Music Director Michael Repper, above, conducted the orchestra in a performance of Florence Price’s Symphony No. 1 and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 on March 25 at the Northumberland High School Auditorium in Heathsville. The orchestra will conclude its 2022-2023 season at the same venue on May 20 with a performance of “Too Hot to Handel: A Gospel Messiah.” The new rendition of the Messiah, which unites classical music with gospel harmony, jazz improvisation and Latin rhythms, will feature a community chorus of people from throughout the area. The concert also will include a performance of three masterworks by Johann Sebastian Bach. Tickets are available online at www.northernneckorchstra.org or at the door.
