Norman H. Holloway Jr., 83, a native of Poquoson until moving to Gloucester in 1979, passed away on Nov. 7, 2023, surrounded by his loving family on. Before retirement, Norman was Superintendent of Maintenance at BASF Fibers, Manager of Maintenance and Utilities at MANN Industries and retired at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital as Director of Plant Operations.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Norman H. Holloway Sr. and Bessie P. Holloway; daughter, Julie H. Bryant; grandson, William Bryant; brother-in-law, Nelson E. Wood. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judy O. Holloway of Gloucester; son, Daniel H. Holloway (Nancy) of Poquoson; daughter, Molly H. Rivera (Jose) of Granby, Connecticut; five grandchildren, Parker J. Bryant (Holly), Joseph D. Rivera (Nicole), Zachary L. Rivera, Hannah M. Holloway, Isabella E. Holloway; great-granddaughter, Violet W. Rivera; sister, Gweneth H. Wood, and nephews, David N. Wood (Sharon) and James “Keith” Wood (Lisa).
A Celebration of Life will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home. A reception will immediately follow the service at the Poquoson Woman’s Club adjacent to the funeral home.
