NORA KATHLEEN WHITMAN

Nora Kathleen Whitman, affectionately known as “Kathleen,” peacefully transitioned from this life on September 10, 2023.

Kathleen of Saluda, was a dedicated worker who devoted over 40 years to the A&P grocery store. Her warm smile and kind-heartedness brightened the lives of countless customers and colleagues. Kathleen’s commitment to family was boundless, as she lovingly cared for her mother-in-law, Mrs. Adams, setting a shining example of selflessness. She also cherished her husband’s musical talents, finding joy in his guitar and harmonica serenades since 1955. Kathleen’s unwavering dedication continued as she cared for her husband, James, until his passing.

Kathleen had an immense love for animals, caring for over 45 cats throughout her lifetime. Her compassion extended to all creatures, big and small.

Kathleen’s memory is cherished by many, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. We extend special thanks to Warren and Donna Palmer, David and Ann Hall, Carolyn Harlow, Donald Lee Hall, and so many others who took the time to call and visit Kathleen, offering enduring friendship and support throughout her remarkable life. She is survived by her cats, “Buster” and “Oreo”; her sister, Lillian Pierce; nieces and nephews, R.B. (Donna) Haynes, Jeannie Pierce, Michael (Tracy) Walton, Rob (Diane) Pierce, Nora Robbins, and Debbie Haynes.

The interment took place on September 15, 2023 at Washington Memorial Park in Sandston, Va. Tributes may be posted at www.vincentfh.com.
