Mathews Market Days has been recognized as a nonprofit corporation by the Commonwealth of Virginia, receiving confirmation papers on March 10. The festival has additionally applied for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status with the federal government and is expecting to receive the paperwork any day, said 2024 event chair Jennifer Roahrig.
