The Guinea Jubilee Committee arm of the Guinea Heritage Association is well underway in its planning for the 2024 Guinea Jubilee to be held this year on Sept. 27 and 28 at the Abingdon Ruritan Festival Grounds.

From Friday afternoon’s kickoff with over 60 arts, crafts and food vendor booths, to the Saturday night’s fireworks extravaganza conclusion, the 2024 Guinea Jubilee celebration is an annual two-day event not-to-be-missed, a GHA release stated.

Tucked away in all this planning is the selection process which concludes with the announcement of the 2024 Guinea Jubilee grand marshal on Heritage Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Abingdon Ruritan Club, Bena.

The Grand Marshal Selection Committee has placed nomination forms for this year’s grand marshal in various Guinea seafood businesses, the Achilles and Bena post offices and at Achilles Shopping Center (Marvin’s), Lyn’s Mini Mart at Bena, as well as Buck’s Store Museum.
