The Mathews County Board of Supervisors held a special closed session meeting at the historic courthouse on Saturday morning to discuss personnel matters. No action was taken after the closed session, which lasted two hours.
The purpose of the closed session was to discuss the performance of a specific appointee and two specific employees, as well as to consult with the county attorney on legal issues regarding the investigation requested by the board at the Oct. 17 board meeting, according to a notice announcing the session.
At the Oct. 17 meeting, the board voted to have an administrative investigation of issues raised by Mathews Sheriff April Edwards regarding the county’s IT personnel.
