The New York Polyphony will perform at 5 p.m. Saturday at Abingdon Episcopal Church, White Marsh, in the fourth concert this season in the Arts at Abingdon series. Admission is free, with a free-will offering accepted.
The quartet of male singers performs a repertoire that ranges from austere medieval melodies to cutting-edge contemporary compositions. The ensemble’s growing discography includes two Grammy-nominated releases, including the recent “Sing thee Nowell.”
The group has toured extensively, with recent engagements that include debut performances at London’s Wigmore Hall and The Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, residencies at Dartmouth College and Stanford University, and appearances under the aegis of the Utrecht Early Music Festival.
Seating is limited so early arrival is suggested. Arts at Abingdon is wholly supported by donations. For more information about the concert or to find out how to become a donor, call 804-693-3035.
