New thrift shop opens near Ordinary

A Gloucester man recently opened an upscale thrift store on Route 17 halfway between Gloucester Court House and the Point. Kennith Wainwright said his business, The Shoppe in Ordinary, sells a wide range of items such as fishing supplies, collectibles, holiday items, furniture and more.

Wainwright said many items in the shop are things he has been collecting for a long time. He said he takes pride that his shop is not messy like some people may picture the typical thrift store, but is kept neat with high quality items.

"I’ve been collecting ‘collectible’ stuff for so long," Wainwright said. "It’s time for me to move on and collect bigger toys."

He said all of the items in the store are upscale. He does not sell clothes or things like plastic children’s toys. "I try to keep it so people can come in and not feel overwhelmed," he added.
