New president named at Gloucester Chamber

Sarah Burney will assume a new position as the president of the Gloucester Chamber of Commerce.
Burney, who had served as a director on the chamber’s board, said she was excited about her new position and said, “I think being president is going to be very eye-opening on what I can do to change things” in the community. “I have a lot of ideas and have a lot of new people who I just brought onboard and I am very excited to use their knowledge and their ideas to make the next year good.”
A Gloucester native and 2014 Gloucester High School graduate, she has been on the board of directors for both the Gloucester Chamber of Commerce and the Gloucester County Rotary Club for the last two years. She has worked at Chesapeake Bank for a little over eight years, where she started off as a bank teller. She is now manager of the Gloucester branch of Chesapeake Bank, a position she has held for almost three years.
