A new online reservation site is now up and running for those looking to stay at one of Virginia State Parks’ campgrounds, cabins or yurts.
More than 1,677 campsites, 306 climate-controlled cabins and 50 yurts are available through the online system, including the three yurts and 27 campsites at Machicomoco State Park in Hayes.
The new site went live on Thursday, Jan. 27 following months of collaboration with the state’s new management technology provider, US eDirect.
“Virginia State Parks is continuously investing in ways to improve our internal systems and in the way we engage and serve the public,” said VSP Director Dr. Melissa Baker. “This new system will streamline bookings and allow visitors to experience the commonwealth’s natural beauty and incredible history.”
