Nelda Jay Klinefelter passed away on March 31, 2024 in Gloucester, Virginia. He was 76. He was the son of Kenneth P. and Geraldine H. Klinefelter, and his stepmother, Arlyne Klinefelter. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard; and stepbrother, Kenneth Jr. and stepsister, Martha. He was also predeceased by his stepsisters, Sherry, Carol, and Charlotte. He is survived by his stepsister, Hazel (Bill) of Cartersville, Georgia, and friend, Joe Roth. Also, his two cats, Puddy Tat and Smokey. Jay grew up in Hampton, graduating from Hampton High School. He worked at William & Mary in information technology and retired after 33 years. Upon graduating from high school, he attended Tech School and worked at the Pentagon. In the early ’70s he worked in Information Technology in Germany and Vietnam. In the mid ’70s he spent time living in Costa Rica on a farm. He lived in Schley, Virginia, for 35 years. He also worked part-time in the Schley and Ware Neck post offices.
