National Night Out to be held Aug. 6 at MHS

National Night Out, a community event offering a wide variety of family-friendly games and activities, music, and food—all completely free of charge—will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Mathews High School’s Ken Brown Field.
Organized by the Mathews County Sheriff’s Office with funding from the Mathews Community Foundation and local sponsors, the event is a way to bring the community and law enforcement together in a casual, fun-filled environment, said Sgt. Julianna Berry of MCSO.
“We want an area where we can all come together as a community and form positive relationships,” she said. “There will be no product sales or politics.”
Activities
Chapman’s Magic Group will be on hand with games and activities, including a Butterfly Safari, a ball pit with toy excavators, a Batter’s Up game, a water slide, a bounce house, a Battle Zone inflatable, a foam party, several frame-up games, and dinosaur photo ops, said Berry. There will also be a mist tent for cooling off.
