Mathews Lions Club signed on as a supporter of next month’s National Night Out event, which will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Mathews High School. Marie Walls, at left, presents a $150 check from the club to Mathews Sheriff April Edwards. The local observance of National Night Out will be on the football field of Mathews High School with games, music, food trucks, sno-cones and more. This gathering is held across the country to foster positive relationships between families in the community and law enforcement.
