Matthew R. Nash, 43, of Gloucester, has announced his candidacy for the Gloucester County School Board to fulfill the remainder of former at-large school board member Kellie Lockerby’s unexpired term which ends Dec. 31, 2025.
“It felt like my time to step up,” said Nash about his candidacy.
When Lockerby vacated her seat, Nash decided it was his time to do something to help the community, children and parents.
“Now is my time to do something to try to help,” said Nash.
If elected, Nash said he would like to give parents the chance to have a say in their child’s education, since some aspects of the child’s education could go against their parents’ moral values. He said some teachers like to include their opinions in what they teach to students and Nash said he would like to help keep education unbiased.
An important part of being a board member for Nash would be to get together and work with his fellow board members to work through problems as adults and find a way to move forward.
