MVFD responds to 6 accidents in 2 hours during storm

The Mathews County Volunteer Fire Department responded to six vehicle accidents in the space of two hours during last Tuesday’s snowstorm. Four of those accidents required the response of fire trucks.
MVFD Chief Ronnie Lewis said that some of the accidents were due to poor judgment, and he cautioned residents to “slow down and be patient with each other on the road” during winter storms.
“People are at work and get caught in the weather,” he said. “They need to plan a little bit better.”
