Miss Ruth Shackleford returned on Tuesday, after a week’s stay at the Exposition and Portsmouth. She returns full of vigor and is able to take on a few more pupils in her music school. Miss Ruth is a thoroughly competent instructor and if you find your child has any musical talent she is the lady to develop it.

U.M. Lane, of Blakes, has leased the Mathews Fair Grounds for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of next week and will stage a Fair there for colored people. It is understood that a good racing program is assured in addition to the same midway attractions secured by the Mathews Fair. There will be agricultural and domestic science exhibits, a department for school children and other attractions. School children will be admitted free on Friday when accompanied by adults.
