Museum grand opening

Art lovers were all smiles on Tuesday during the grand opening of the Fine Arts Museum of Gloucester at Main Street Center, sponsored by The Cook Foundation. They heard a gallery talk by internationally-renowned sculptor and conservator Andrew Baxter, who discussed his vast experience working with such institutions as The Getty, the National Gallery of Art, the White House, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, and others, and they enjoyed heavy hors d’oeuvres prepared by Chef Brian Marshall’s catering team. They were also able to preview the museum’s first exhibit, a retrospective installation of Kacey Carneal’s works titled “Back Home.” Shown in top photo, David Evans of Gloucester Point, talks with Cook Foundation Secretary Karen Flowe.
