Kelli Pollard of Williamsburg, plans to open her new beauty supply store next month at 17 Plaza, Hayes.
Ms. Kelli’s Beauty Supply will provide wigs, hairstyling tools, accessories and products to the public for their hair care needs. The store will also have licensed cosmetologists who can do braids, weaves as well as nails in store.
“I’m very excited,” Pollard said about the store’s pending opening. “I am glad [that I am able] to help the community. It’s another dream that I had to provide proper hair maintenance and products.”
Pollard has had years of experience in the cosmetology industry. She said that she started off as a shampoo girl at a local salon at the age of 12. After two years, she then became an assistant at the same salon for two more years.
“I really liked it so I took it a step further, when I got into high school I took a program,” she said.
Pollard started taking classes similar to what is now called Career and Technical Education (CTE) program for cosmetology. While...
