Morton named to second term on CNU board

Christy Tomlinson Morton of Gloucester has been named by Gov. Glenn Youngkin to a second term on the Board of Visitors of Christopher Newport University, Newport News.
Morton is vice president of Two Capitols Consulting and an experienced hand in public affairs, having worked for multiple governors and representing the private sector and state agencies with the General Assembly.
She is a former executive director of the Center for Rural Virginia; deputy director of external affairs and policy development for Gov. Bob McDonnell, and senior vice president for policy and strategic partnerships at the Virginia Economic Development Partnership.
Morton is a cum laude graduate of CNU, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science and a minor in economics. She also graduated from the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership and LEAD Virginia, and holds graduate certificates from Virginia Tech in foundations of political analysis, and environmental politics and policy.
