Salem United Methodist Church, Diggs, celebrated the mortgage payoff that allowed them to build a fellowship hall, which cost $400,000. The mortgage-burning ceremony was held on the front lawn of the church by Pastor Jesse Blythe immediately after Sunday services. He acknowledged the wonderful contributions of members and many others in the community, a release stated.
