Bard Morgan, 46, is a new sales agent at Southern Trade Realty, Inc. He recently joined the company, located at Flat Iron, Gloucester.

"I like meeting people and talking to them," Morgan said of why he enjoys real estate. He said that having lived much of his life here has helped him sell real estate, such as knowing water depths and obstacles for boating and fishing, as well as a familiarity with many parcels.

Morgan, who resides off Route 14, Gloucester, holds a state real estate license and sells a variety of property, including single-family homes and land among others. He likes to pre-qualify buyers before showing them properties, which helps reduce their expectations for getting into a house they can’t afford.

Morgan said he recently had worked in the landscaping business, but prefers the constant contact with customers now to the solitary time spent doing landscaping. Previously, he worked for a financial institution in York County.
