A special meeting of the Mathews County Board of Supervisors that was scheduled for Monday to discuss expenditure of CARES Act funds has been canceled.
County Administrator Mindy Conner said in an email to board members that the federal government’s deadline for expenditure of the funds was extended to Dec. 31, 2021, so the meeting was no longer necessary.
Congress passed a government funding bill late Monday night that includes $900 billion in COVID-19 relief. The bill was headed to the president’s desk for his signature on Tuesday morning.
