Mona Fey Hogge, age 84, of Wicomico, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Mona was the daughter of the late Alfred A. Thomas and Lois Rivers Thomas, and she was born in Opelousas, Louisiana. She retired from Eastern State Hospital, and was a lifelong member of Providence Baptist Church. Mona Fey served her Lord in all capacities, teaching Sunday School, working with the GAs and Acteens, being a member of the WMU, and volunteering with Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Ballentine. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Lynwood F. Hogge; three children, Duane Hogge, Alycia Giles, Jodi Jahn (Ryan); eight grandchildren, Virginia Elizabeth, Alyssa, Daniel, Jacquelynn (David), Sara (Kyle), Samuel (Miranda), Matthew (Amanda), Clayton (Ashley); 10 great-grandchildren, and siblings, Alfred Thomas III (Carolyn) and George Thomas (Kathy). The family received friends on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 3-4:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home. A funeral service, conducted by Pastor Nate Varnadore, was held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2024, at Providence Baptist Church, and burial in the church cemetery. Her greatest joys were serving Christ Jesus, Bible reading, and family. In memory of our loved one, contributions may be made to WMU of Virginia, 2828 Emerywood Parkway, Henrico, Va. 23294.
