Mobjack Rowing Association is offering three one-day introduction to rowing sessions during March and April for youth in the seventh through 10th grades from the Middle Peninsula.
Sessions will be offered on Wednesdays, March 31, April 7 and 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Williams Wharf in Mathews. The sessions will be run by novice coach Katelyn James with the help of new head coach Jon Lothian and the rest of the Mobjack Rowing team.
The sessions will be co-ed and are designed for youth who are completely new to rowing. There will be an overview of boat basics, time to get a feel for the boats at the dock, answers to any questions and to information on how to join the team in the spring or summer.
Mobjack has made major investments in its fleet over the past year that have given the team the ability to practice during the pandemic. MRA has abide by measures imposed by U.S. Rowing as well as mandates put in place by Virginia, a release said.
