Mathews Memorial Library has been closed since Monday, and it will remain closed through Sunday, March 29 due to the need for social distancing amid rising concerns about the coronavirus Covid-19.
According to a press release, all library adult, young adult, and children’s programming, and all group meetings are cancelled through Monday, April 13.
Library staff will be available 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during the closure to answer questions. They may be reached at 804-725-5747 or by email on the county’s website, mathewslibrary.org.
While the library is closed, due dates and hold pick-up dates will be extended, and any fines accrued will be waived.
External book drops at the main front and lobby entrances are available to return items, and the popup library at the main front entrance will be stocked with popular novels.
