The week of April 7, several residents from Gloucester, Mathews and Middlesex counties traveled to Guatemala on a medical mission. As part of this mission, health kits and glasses were provided to many of the Guatemalan families who live in abject poverty. The Mathews Lions Club provided glasses and Westville Christian Women’s Fellowship provided health kits. Mathews Lions Club members Eric and Doug Grandon, from left in photo above, are shown with boxes of glasses ready to be transported. Maureen Frank from CWF is shown with the health kits ready to be distributed. Making the trip to Xojola in Guatemala were Pete, Betsy and Chris Liljeberg from Hartfield; Jenny Pritchett, Kate Casper, Linda Hodges, and Donna and Chase Ambrose from Mathews County and Doug Dalager from Gloucester.
