Minor league player has local connection

Nick Biddison, a second-year member of the Single-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in the California League, was drafted out of Virginia Tech by the Los Angeles Dodgers in Round 4 of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft.
Biddison, who attended Glen Allen High School near Richmond, is the grandson of Alan and Lois Biddison of Hudgins, and has spent summer days at their Cricket Hill home.
Biddison was a second baseman and outfielder during his career at Tech and has continued in those positions. At week’s end, he was batting .240 this year and had several home runs, including an inside-the-park circuit, to his credit.
“I got into baseball because my brother played and naturally, I had to do the same as him, but better,” he said. “I didn’t get into baseball until I was around 6 or 8, but never stopped once I started.”
