Members of the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors, with the assistance of Director of Finances Maria Calloway and County Administrator Carol Steele, reviewed adjustments to the county’s proposed budget during a work session Monday night in the colonial courthouse.
A number of slight adjustments were made, resulting in a net positive of approximately $2,287, according to Calloway.
Some of the adjustments included an 8 percent increase in health insurance costs rather than 12 percent which was in the initial proposed budget; removal of the proposed board salary increase (which led to a $2,264 reduction); $131,482 in personnel updates which led to a rise in costs; an estimated $4,800 in additional common area maintenance for the health department; and $12,245 in additional maintenance for the library, an increase in veterans credit, which was estimated to result in a reduction in revenue of approximately $171,000; a review of social services expenditures resulting in a reduction of $3...
