Four free classes on mindfulness and meditation are being offered by Steve Zimmerman from 6:45-8 p.m. every other Wednesday beginning Wednesday, Feb. 13. Classes will be held at Ware Episcopal Church parish house, Route 14, Gloucester.
Mindfulness has been described as paying attention to the present moment and waking up to life, said a press release. Mindfulness has been shown to reduce anxiety and to help people respond to their emotions in healthy ways. Meditation helps develop mindfulness and improves concentration and calmness. Together, mindfulness and meditation form a simple practice that changes one’s experience of life.
This practice is non-denominational, said the release.
