Historical artifacts related to military service will be on display at the Mathews Historical Museum over the Memorial Day weekend.
The exhibit, in partnership with the Retired Officers of Mathews County Association (ROMCA), can be viewed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday at the museum, which is located at 200 Main Street, Mathews.
Mathews is the home of many retired military men and women, all of whom had interesting career experiences while serving their country, said a press release, some pleasurable and some frightful.
Many retired officers, responding to the comment, “Thank you for your service,” would retort pleasantly, “It was my honor to serve,” said the release, and it would be a response made deeply, from the heart.
