Mildred Moore DeBolt, 83, of Gloucester, passed peacefully on Sept. 13, 2013.
Mildred was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Gloucester. She was a 1948 graduate of Botetourt High School, and longtime member of Gloucester’s one and only Botetourt Belles. Mildred was a true Belle … she loved her family, and was fully committed to her eight children, 15 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard R. DeBolt; parents, Herbert and Bertha Plummer Moore, and brother, Wilson Moore.
She is survived by daughters, Leslie Beckwith and husband Douglas; Deborah Romero and husband Thomas, Robyn Olson, and Wendy West and husband Aaron; sons, Richard DeBolt Jr. and wife Deborah Williams, David DeBolt and wife Petra, Russell DeBolt and wife Joanne, and Paul DeBolt and partner Carolyn, Pierre Blanquart whom she considered a son; brothers, Herbert A. Moore and William B. Moore; grandchildren, Matthew and Jason Beckwith, Michael DeBolt, Rachael and Darby DeBolt, Brittany Merryman and Auburn DeBolt, and Ronald Morgan, Hope and Jessica Johnston, Heather Thomas, Jordan Marshall, and Ryan DeBolt, Chesapeake and Emily West, and great-grandchildren Noel, Natahlia, and Nyah Beckwith, Caleb DeBolt, Avery Thomas and Easton Marshall.
Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Dr. Douglas Nagel were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church, Gloucester. Interment followed in Windsor Gardens Cemetery.
The family received friends Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
