FRENCH DIP
“A family favorite, especially for my daughter Crystal and her family.”
1 eye of round roast
Cook roast for about 1½ hours in a 325°F. oven. When done remove fat, reserve juices, cool and refrigerate. When ready to use, slice thinly. Place slices, thickly, between sliced French bread (about 1½ inches thick). While beef is cooking make the dipping sauce.
Au Jus
Soy sauce (quite a bit), Chun King brand
Pepper to taste
Garlic salt to taste
Worcestershire, not quite so much, just a touch
3 c. water
Reserved juice from roast
1 pkg. Au Jus seasoning
Mix together. Then dip your roast beef sandwich in Au Jus sauce to enjoy.
BLUE CHEESE DRESSING
2 large chunks of blue cheese
Buttermilk, enough to make blue cheese creamy
1 qt. mayonnaise
¼ c. dry vermouth
½ juiced lemon, or whole
4 cloves garlic, very fine chopped
Salt to taste
Dash of Worcestershire
