Middlesex track kicks off season Saturday

Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway opens its 2013 season this Saturday with Safety-Kleen, WRAR, WNNT Night at the Races. The anticipation for the first race of the season has been building over the last several weeks and fans and competitors alike are excited to get the speedway’s 34th season underway, a release stated.

Competitor gates open at noon, with spectator gates opening at 4 when on-track activities start with hot laps. There will be a mandatory drivers’ meeting at 3:45.

The evening will include a full program of Virginia Army National Guard Dirt Series action, including the Victory Lap Late Model/Fastrack Pro Late Model, Truckin’ Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modified and Collision One Limited Stock divisions.

 

Admission is $12 for adults; $10 for seniors (ages 60+), $8 for military (active duty/retired with proper ID), $6 for students (ages 13-17), $4 for children (ages 7-12) and children 6 and under admitted free. Family and pit pas...
