Middlesex County author publishes ‘Buried Dreamer’

“Buried Dreamer,” a historical novel about an exiled Scottish minister who assists with the Underground Railroad in Virginia in the 1800s, is now available at Amazon.com and many other merchant locations.
Written by David B. Howell of Topping, the book begins with a local graduate buried alive in Afghanistan who dreams about great-grandparents in Kilmarnock.
“Buried Dreamer,” in part, is about a shipwreck in the Rappahannock River in 1849 and a group of people who assist with the Underground Railroad. Among the survivors is that Scottish minister, who begins to assist with the Underground Railroad through Lancaster County.
Presiding Bishop Michael Curry (who gave a sermon at the royal wedding of Meghan and Prince Harry) wrote the Foreword. The endorsers include Jimmy Buffett’s lead guitarist.
The author will read excerpts from the book at Arts in the Middle on June 3 in Urbanna. For more details on that festival, visit www.artsinthemiddle.com.
