J.J. and Shane Valverde of Virginia Beach, above, were among the 31 participants in Saturday’s Micro-Tri at Williams Wharf, organized by the Mathews Outdoor Club. Darin Stiefvater posted a winning time of 48:40.6 in the race of 0.2 mile swim, 8-mile bike ride and 2-mile run. Heather Call was top female winner in 55:42.1. Participants who raced in all four Micro-Tris this summer received a commemorative hoodie sweatshirt.
